As qualified Shoe Fitters when measuring feet, we take most value in the heel to ball of foot dimension rather than just length. This is to ensure that the arch is correctly supported by the right length foot bed. We will also check there is sufficient room in the toe box, and a secure fit at the heel. It is advisable to measure feet each time we buy new shoes (or have the fit checked by a trained fitter) as our feet change shape over time and there is no standardisation of shoe sizes, this means that no two styles or brands will be the same.

We are often on our feet all day so it is very important to have correctly fitted shoes as this can avoid the onset or worsening of all manner of pain/discomfort from joints in the knees, hips/back through to necks/shoulders and headaches.
